I'm Ashleigh Noordhoek.
I take photos of bands, people, parties and whatever else that looks good under bad lighting. Working in live music ended up ruining everything else for me in the best way possible.
I’m based between Adelaide and Melbourne – usually somewhere too close to a speaker stack with a camera in hand while being shoved around by crowd surfers and security.
If I’m not shooting a gig, I’m probably pouring beers at one or standing in the crowd somewhere. I’ve worked in live music venues for years now, so this world has kind of taken over my entire personality.
I like emotion, colours that feel too loud, and nothing stiff nor stock-standard like what you see in LinkedIn profiles.
I want you to look at your photos and think,
“holy shit, I look cool.”
So if you want clean, safe and forgettable – probably hire somebody else.
But if your goal is to make something that actually has a pulse – say hi below x
